Chiropractic
(By John Tillyard BSc (Chiro) DC)
I originally decided to qualify as a chiropractor like many other practitioners, after being successfully treated for a back injury by a chiropractor. I was impressed by the science behind the treatment and also the range of conditions it could treat. It isn't singly about the spine but all joints in the body.
I trained at the McTimony school of Chiropractic because I like the college philosophy (very British!) and its distinctive approach to patient care. It does this by offering:
* A whole body approach, not singly concerned with the prime area of dysfunction.
* The actual adjustment is gentle, non invasive and using the latest actuator technology and protocols.
* The patient is given time.
My attitude to treatment is that as well as providing pain relief, I also want to invest in the long-term benefit of the patient. I will accomplish this by appropriate treatment, advice in matters of health and general fitness and a rehabilitation program that meets the patient's long-term needs.
It really is about securing your current and future lifestyles by investing in your health today.
